TORONTO, Thursday October 20, 2011 – The Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) was honoured to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Award for Waste Minimization by the Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO) and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. The award was presented at the Recycling Council of Ontario Waste Minimization Gala on Wednesday, October 19th in recognition of Waste Minimization Week. This is the second year WEG has received the Platinum Award for Facilities Management.
“WEG launched its zero waste to landfill program this year to ensure continuous improvement in reducing our environmental footprint. This very special recognition is a testament to Woodbine’s commitment to sustainability” said Jane Holmes, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility Officer,. “We are proud of all of our staff and their commitment to the 3R’s”.
